The Oklahoman ends home delivery in parts of state

The Oklahoman has announced they'll stop home delivery of their newspaper on December 1st for many areas around the state.
The Oklahoman this week began informing some readers in the four corners of Oklahoma that it would stop distribution of the newspaper on a daily basis on Dec. 1. ...

... About 7,000 households, most of them 100 miles or more from Oklahoma City, will be affected by the changes in daily home delivery.

In a handful of communities, including Tulsa, home delivery will be discontinued, but the daily paper will be available from news racks and in retail stores. Despite the cutbacks, the redrawn circulation area of The Oklahoman still covers roughly two-thirds of the state. ...

I haven't heard if any communities in the West OK have gotten notice yet. I do know our friends in NW Oklahoma (Alva, etc) and Tulsa have. If you received notice about end of service, please let us know. Post a comment either here or in our forum.

Update 11/7: Well its official. The Oklahoman will stop home delivery on Nov 30th here in Elk City. I'll scan the letter I just got and post it a little later.

UPDATE! 11/10: Talk about getting all worked up!! The very next day we received yet another letter, only this one was wrapped up in our newspaper. It's stated we were sent the discontinuation of home-delivery notice by mistake, and we will continue to receive the paper after November 30th.
